Ranko Češić was a member of the Bosnian Serb Territorial Defence in Grčica and a member of the Intervention Platoon of the Bosnian Serb Police Reserve Corps at the Brčko Police Station. He was tried for having committed or otherwise aided and abetted the murder, rape, and humiliating or degrading treatment of Bosnian Muslims and Croats at Luka camp and in Brčko Partizan Sports Hall. He was charged on the basis of individual criminal responsibility for crimes against humanity for murder and rape and violations of the laws or customs of war for murder and humiliating or degrading treatment. He pleaded guilty before the Trial Chamber, which accepted his plea in 2004 and sentenced him to imprisonment for 18 years.
