Predrag Banović was a guard at the Keraterm camp. He was tried for allegedly having planned, instigated, ordered, committed or otherwise aided and abetted in the planning, preparation or execution of the persecution, torture, murder, sexual assault, and cruel treatment of Bosnian Muslims and other non-Serbs in the Keraterm camp outside of Prijedor. He was charged on the basis of individual criminal responsibility, of crimes against humanity for persecutions, inhumane acts, and torture, and violations of the laws or customs of war for murder and cruel treatment. He pleaded guilty before the Trial Chamber in 2003, and was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment.
